Janina Wierusz Kowalska

She works in painting, drawing, and spatial textile art. Her works have been presented at solo and group exhibitions among others in Buenos Aires, Brussels, Paris, Warsaw, Kraków, Bielsko-Biała, and at the Old Castle in Żywiec. Her works are held in numerous private collections. She also occasionally and selectively undertakes interior design, treating each commission as a unique and unrepeatable work.

She studied at the Faculty of Design and the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. She is the founder of the "School of Visual Art", for which she developed original curricula, combining the Socratic ideal of creative dialogue with universal, interdisciplinary education inspired by the Bauhaus model.

She comes from a family with deep artistic traditions. Her ancestor was Alfred Jan Wierusz Kowalski, a pupil of Józef Brandt, a distinguished Polish painter, representative of the so-called Munich School and honorary professor of the Munich Academy.

There is geometry in the sounds of strings, there is music in the circles of the spheres.
